Blue Mountains gateball players visited Young Croquet club on the 18th January to run afternoon and early evening gateball sessions.
Two club members had previously attended a session at Orange and were keen to hold a similar session at their own club.
Members and their visitors played several games in sweltering 40 degree heat. Gaps between games allowed participants to take on board plenty of cold drinks. Some even soaked themselves under club sprinklers that were watering newly restored lawns. The ten second rule did surprisingly well considering the temperature.
Everyone agreed that, considering the heat, we’d all done well and enjoyed ourselves.
Given the stamina they exhibited, we hope to see Young players at future gateball events!
