On 28/29th May the tiny hamlet of Jamberoo NSW was invaded by superheroes, gateball playing superheroes. The Jamberoo Croquet Club’s annual gateball triples event was this year a themed weekend.
The Super 3s Challenge with 32 players visiting from Newcastle, Young, Canberra, Lithgow, Epping, Eastwood & Killara was played in a round robin format. The 10 teams were mixed to even out skill and experience levels.
Superwomen and Superman
Some very competitive and close scoring games ensued with team Spiderman undefeated by the end of Saturday’s play. Come Sunday the ‘mild mannered reporters’ AKA team Superman pulled away with 8 wins to take home the newly fashioned trophy, leaving team Ironman in 2nd place.
With costumes and super powers in check, the heroes headed home having had another enjoyable weekend of gateball in Jamberoo.
