In brilliant sunshine eight teams played in the Gateball Triples Event held on Sunday 17th April. It was a long day starting at 8:00 and finishing at 4:30. However, everyone had a very good ‘dose’ of Gateball with players constantly alternating between playing and then refereeing. There were very close games but the winning team won 6 out of their seven games. The team consisted of Amanda, Lee and Chris Wentworth and Jim Northcott. Second place was the Blue Macs consisting of Philip Rowlands, Frances Wregg and Alan Beeson.
Winners were 2nd from left- Lee, Chris, Amanda Blue Macs team of Alan, Frances and Jim, Far left- Barbara Northcott, President, and Phillip Southport Croquet Club

It was a great day. the ‘Tripples’ format seems less pressured and rushed than ‘Doubles’. I enjoyed it more for that reason, and with only three players each team to line up all those formalities were quicker as well.

They don't have to have returned to Turkey. It is enough that Turkish Jews have been seen to have betrayed the motherland by selling themselves to the Zionists. Next step, no more transport or diplomatic links with Israel, no freedom of movement for Jews, they will be arrested and tried on spying charges. There are already a huge number of 'enemies of the state' in Turkish jails.
