2013 Suzuki Cup Report Round 1

By Gareth Hughes

The first round of the Queensland Gateball Teams Championship was held at Ipswich on the 21st – 22nd February 2013 with the local club hosting their Heritage Cup Competition.

The event attracted nine teams coming from as far as Rockhampton and playing in very warm conditions. The standard of competition was of a high standard with teams battling it out in some very close contests.

The winner of the event was the Caloundra Club with an impressive display of gateball – winning seven of their eight games over the weekend. A consistent effort by their team has set the bar high for the rest of the season. Runners up were Tamborine Mountain with six wins and Toowoomba finishing third with five wins.

Happy Gateballing
