KOREAN SUPER STICKS
At the 2017 Australian Gateball Championships in Bateau Bay, the Korean Unicorn team demonstrated their Kesoo Sport Mallets to a small group of people. By adjusting a collar at the head of the shaft the Unicorn players demonstrated jump sparks and slides where the touched ball did not appear to move much after it was touched by the stroker’s ball. The sticks were expensive $4-500 AUD but appeared to have interesting potential. One of the Korean team makes the sticks and is applying for a patent.
Gateball Australia will ask the Koreans to send us videos or come back and give us an organised demonstration if they come back to defend their title in 2019!
Blue Mountains Croquet Club developed a lifter for people who have difficulty bending. Known jokingly as the ‘Dynamic Lifter’ (a well-known garden product in Australia!) the lifter can be made for less than A$20. Full details below.
WET WEATHER COVER FOR TIMERS
A few years ago Rockhampton Mallet Sports Club developed a cover for rectangular gateball timers. Some people just use cling wrap but for those who want to to use the trusted Rocky invention, use the template below. Trace the outline onto a piece of clear vinyl, cut it out, add velcro dots and give it a go!
